Pune, 10 February 2024: FMGE (Foreign Graduate Medical Examination) is a bi-annual examination that medical graduates from foreign countries have to appear for and qualify should they wish to practice medicine in India. It is a tough examination that tests and challenges students’ understanding of concepts in various ways. The examination comprises 300 MCQs and requires a passing score of 150.

The passing percentage of FMGE remains low due to various reasons, some of which include student’s choice of studying at low cost universities which lack clinical exposure, modern infrastructure and teaching methodologies and an improper student screening selection procedure before enrolment in best medical universities of Russia.

A.K.Educational Consultants’ first batch of MBBS at Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (IKBFU) also appeared for the exam. Three AKEC graduates Dr. Shreya Salvi, Dr. Shamika Murudkar and Dr. Shivani Khandalikar completed with Red Degrees in MBBS or Krasnoi Diplom (Honors) which is awarded when the graduates have passed with distinction and excelled in academics.

Dr. Shreya Salvi from Mumbai, stood first from the batch with a score of 203/300, while Dr. Shamika Murudkar from Pune bagged the second position with a score of 188/300.

This graduated batch of IKBFU was felicitated at a grand FMGE Passing Out Batch Felicitation ceremony in Pune on 10th February 2024 at the hands of Dr. Amit Kamle, Director of A.K.Educational Consultants. Pornima Kamle welcomed the guests including students and their parents. The latter received a grand welcome with an auspicious Maharashtrian Pheta and honor in the presence of Dr. Kamle at the hands of students, making it a sentimental moment for parents, students and A.K.Educational Consultants staff.

While being felicitated, students received an “AKEC Silver Memento '' and personalized goodies with their names inscribed on them, serving as a lifetime memory as an AKECean (Student of A.K.Educational Consultants).

The event also included a brief discussion about students' approach and preparation for FMGE and the role A.K.Educational Consultants played in helping them succeed and crack FMGE.

The FMGE Preparation discussion included aspects like an early beginning, setting up the time table and study plan for FMGE, routine, rapid revision methods, MCQ solving, approaching grand test series, self-motivation, identifying weaknesses, the importance of FMGE recall, last minute preparation tips, controlling anxiety and pressure, and techniques to stay away from distractions.
